Gunther ScherzWith over 18 years of experience, Gunther Scherz brings a deep understanding of the automotive industry and trends, helping retailers and distributors to develop and execute on strategies to increase market penetration and creating customer centric solutions. Gunther’s knowledge of product/pricing, sales & marketing and benchmarking
systems affords him the ability to provide rounded support for automotive dealers and distributors.

For PT Proton Edar Indonesia, Gunther lead the re-structuring of the subsidiary as President Director with full P&L responsibility consisting of 3,200 units wholesale, a network of 38 sales and service outlets, 65 people and revenue of US$ 38 mil. Additionally, he was responsible for three Proton owned retail outlets – through PT Proton Motor Indonesia – with retail sales of 750 units, 16,000 service throughputs and total revenue of US$ 24 mil and 185 people. He established a Proton Used Car Center and a market oriented residual value system which in turn enhanced customer confidence and brand value and improved margin of financing. Gunther also introduced a Dealer Enhancement Program consisting of 166 processes to drive dealer performance, professionalism and profitability and linked dealer margin to improvements in baseline performance. For Proton Edar Bahard, as General Manager, Gunther lead the Export team with responsibility for 22 diverse markets such as UAE, Egypt, Syria, UK and Australia, handling both independent distributors and fully owned Proton subsidiaries.

For Audi Asia Pacific as General Manager, Gunther was responsible for business strategy, including competitive analysis, development of market entry recommendations and the establishment of a comprehensive competitive product portfolio. Previously, he was also the Country Manager for Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand, Australia and
New Zealand during his time at Audi Asia Pacific. His latest project is a Genba Kaizan Dealer Audit conducted for J. D. Power and Associates with a leading Japanese car manufacturer in Indonesia. Gunther received a MBA from the University of Chicago of Chicago, Booth School of Business as well as a BA from the University of Innsbruck, Austria.
